The position is part of the Export Services team and is responsible for executing export transactions within the policies and guidelines of the company and provide assistance and back-up to the Business Development Managers.
The position therefore plays a key role in liaison between the Company, its suppliers, shippers and customers and thus carries the responsibility for maintaining high standards of competence, professionalism and service.
THE POSITION REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience in the export field and is familiar with export documentation.
An important requirement is computer literacy especially good working knowledge of excel.
The candidate needs to be comfortable with working with numbers (namely, preparing pricing, costings, calculating discounts etc.) and needs to be quick and accurate.
The candidate also needs good interpersonal skills and should be able to handle the pressure of shipping deadlines.
Ideally we are looking for someone who can speak, write and understand French and we would require a valid work permit should the candidate not be a South African citizen.
Must have experience in preparing costings
Must have experience working with exchange rates
At least 5 years’ experience in the export field, preferably working within a similar company

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Response to trade enquiries / Quotes
- Implement financial procedures for approving transaction
- Execute confirmed orders / Negotiate shipping/operational requirements / Issue shipping instructions / Supplier confirmation / Documentation/Stock / completion of the Shipping File cover – all as per guidelines
- Business Development Manager support and back-up.
